Police are looking out for aggressive drivers this holiday season

Most people in San Antonio know that the image of happy families getting together over the holidays is not wholly accurate. While spending time with family can be relaxing and fun, the process of getting ready for the holidays is anything but. There are gifts that need to be bought, food purchased and prepared, children’s expectations managed, and travel arranged. The holidays can be stressful and sometimes San Antonio drivers may take that stress out on their commute. If police deem their behavior to be aggressive, however, these drivers could be facing a ticket.

In our article on the “Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks” program, we talked about this annual initiative in which police will be looking to ticket drivers they think are aggressive or reckless. For drivers in San Antonio, this is just one more thing to have to worry about this holiday season.

It is not just that a driver could be ticketed, but that a ticket could come with frustrating consequences. With each ticket come points on a driver’s license. With too many points, a driver could find him- or herself with a revoked driver’s license. Trying to finish everything that needs to be done for the holidays while also researching how to reinstate a license may be too much to handle, which is why many ticketed drivers may wish to speak to a criminal defense attorney.

Having a driver’s license is nearly essential in San Antonio and losing it because a driver cut off a semitrailer truck may seem a little harsh. Fighting a ticket, however, may clear a defendant’s name and get the individual his or her license reinstated.
