Felony charge for alleged drug dealer after man killed

On Behalf of | Nov 8, 2016 | Uncategorized

There may be no more alarming situation than one in which a person’s life is on the line. That is precisely what a man from San Antonio now faces following his arrest recently. An apparent run in with another man that went bad has led to a capital felony charge for this young adult.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 7, 2016, police responded to a report of a pedestrian accident on Peabody Avenue. A male victim was found by San Antonio Police Department officers and was taken to a hospital suffering from severe injuries. He died at the hospital shortly after arriving.

An alleged drug dealer is suspected of robbing the victim during what was supposed to have been a drug sale. Apparently, the dealer attempted to flee in his vehicle with the victim’s money, but the victim clung to the side of the suspect’s vehicle, a large pickup truck. It was reported that the accused sideswiped another vehicle, dislodging the victim from his vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was tracked down later that same day.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at an address on Laredo Highway and taken into custody. He was charged with capital murder, a crime punishable by life in prison or death. As the offence allegedly took place during the commission of a robbery, it is considered a capital crime.

Any person facing a capital felony charge is in a very serious predicament. In fact, his or her very life may depend on the outcome of the trial. For those men and women who end up in this grievous situation in San Antonio or the surrounding area, it is very important to secure dedicated and experienced representation from a criminal defense attorney.
