Texas volunteer firefighter accused of sex crimes

On Behalf of | Jun 9, 2014 | Uncategorized

A Texas school district may be short an IT worker after the arrest of one of its employees. Accused of sex crimes involving some of the students of the district, he was also arrested for possessing child pornography. In addition to his job in the IT department of the Texas school district, he also spent time as a volunteer firefighter.

Although the exact reason why is unclear, local authorities requested that Texas Rangers investigate the man on suspicions that he may have been in possession of child pornography. A few months later, Rangers arrested the man and charged him with the sexual assault of a child. He was also accused of possessing child pornography.

It is suspected that the man captured pictures and videos of students while they were in either bathrooms or changing rooms. A letter was sent home from the school district informing students’ parents of the arrest and allegations. All of the schools in the district were thoroughly searched, but officials did not locate any devices that could have been used inappropriately.

His status as a volunteer firefighter was revoked after the department discovered that he had been arrested on sexual assault charges. Additionally, the Texas school district that he worked for also plans to let him go. Allegations of sex crimes involving a minor are often handled seriously, but the accused still has the right to the presumption of innocence and a chance to fight the charges in court. He and his criminal defense will likely review the specific claims of his charges before formulating the best defense possible that is intended to procure the most favorable outcome for this man.
